And just like that, we come to the last two battles of the Virtuous Division's opening round. After easy wins by Roy Campbell and Mei Ling, we move on. When these battles end, 25% of this contest will be complete. Time flies when you're having fun. As I'll be busy tonight, it's very likely you won't see a leaderboard update. Well, we find ourselves quickly coming to the halfway point of the first round--tomorrow's battles will be the last for the Virtuous Division's opening round. So far, so good. As for the battles that just ended, Meryl won easily over Ellen, but the Johnny/Jonathan battle proved to be a lot closer than I expected. Again, the results showed a dead tie for the battle, but a small, 3-vote advantage for Jonathan would ultimately give him the win, making Johnny Sesaki the first victim of an upset for this contest. That will shift up the leaderboard a bit, as you'll see a little later when I post it. At initial glance, it looks like a mixed bag amongst the entrants, but we'll see what the numbers reveal.
